A supercomputer is a computer with a high level of performance as compared to a general-purpose computer. The performance of a supercomputer is commonly measured in floating-point operations per second (FLOPS) instead of million instructions per second (MIPS).
The list of the world’s fastest supercomputers has been published. Top 500 named companies publish the list of the best 10 supercomputers in speed trials twice a year. Top 500 published a report on the Lynpack benchmark survey with the help of German and US experts. Below list are the top 10 supercomputers…
1. Summit
Oak Ridge National Laboratory of the US Department of Energy unveiled Summit last June. It is now the world’s most powerful and talented supercomputer. The Oak Ridge team says the system costs $200 million to build. It is the first supercomputer, specially designed for use in artificial intelligence applications. This supercomputer made by IBM is 148.6 petaflop speed.
2. Sierra
