MCU fans recently received the taste of brutality when they were introduced to the universe’s next major character in Moon Knight, who will arrive with a Disney+ show in March.
Hollywood star Oscar Isaac will play the iconic Marvel comic character who receives powers from the Egyptian deity, Khonshu, to protect the innocent. In the show and the comics, Isaac will play multiple characters in Steven Grant, Jake Lockley and Marc Spector as he suffers from dissociative identity disorder.
The trailer for the show released earlier this week, and it seems like the popular actor will play Steven Grant with a British accent. However, it remains to be seen how the tone will shift when he will don the role of Marc Spector, who is the primary host of Moon Knight.
Along with Spector’s new suit, which looks quite comic accurate, fans also received some glimpses of the show’s villain in Arthur Harrow, who will be played by Ethan Hawke.
Other than Harrow and his cult, the trailer also teased the arrival of Spector’s Egyptian God in Khonshu, who also looked menacing and should give fans the chills when he will make his first appearance.
Khonshu’s appearance in the trailer confirmed that the TV show will delve deep into Egyptian mythology, as Spector has faced many of its characters. While the trailer didn’t mention the sighting of any other Egyptian deities, it did end with a shot of Spector mauling someone.
The clip only lasted a couple of seconds. However, upon closer inspection, it seems like Spector might be having a scrap with Anubis, the Lord of the Dead. In the comics, Anubis is one of Marc Spector’s major foes, and he has superhuman abilities that can cause a major trouble for Mr. Knight.

It’s unclear why the TV show might showcase a powerful figure like Anubis being beaten down by Moon Knight, as the first season will probably revolve around his origin story.
There’s even a very good chance that it might not be Anubis after all, and instead, it could be one of his Jackal henchmen.
Other than that, the trailer even pokes a theory in the other direction, as it could be Jack Russell aka Werewolf by Night. In the comics, Spector and Russell were part of the Midnight Sons, along with other Marvel characters like Morbius, Blade and many more.
For the longest of time, rumors have been swirling around a possible Midnight Sons movie in the future with Mahershala Ali’s Blade. Moreover, Werewolf by Night will appear in a Halloween special later this year with Gael Garcia Bernal playing the role of Jack Russell. So, it wouldn’t be far-fetched to suggest that the character will first appear in Moon Knight.
However, chances are that both Jackal/Anubis and Werewolf by Night will play second fiddle to Ethan Hawke’s Arthur Harrow, and fans can’t wait to see how his David Koresh-type character will play out in the show.
